Since 2013 Pastor Derek Mason has successfully guided hundreds of people from the effects of darkness to Light (freedom in Christ). This has ranged from divorce, pornography, depression, addiction, anxiety, anger, violence and suicide to extreme spiritual warfare. In 2018 Pastor Derek officially registered Identity In Christ, Inc. as a 501(c)3 non-profit Christian Counseling organization. 

“I sadly and quickly realized that the Church (as a whole) in America has forgotten how to guide people (in victory) through these battles. Most churches today are more concerned with attracting and retaining people, RATHER THAN freeing them from the chains of darkness which destroy them. Their heart is committed more to entertainment and acceptance than to eternal life! I have known MANY stories of people sincerely and desperately asking for help in these areas from their church leaders and/or pastor, only to be marginalized, ignored and even laughed at (especially concerning spiritual warfare)! In my opinion, there is no greater crisis today than this. Something has got to change. The Church was meant to be Light in the darkness and was given the authority and power of God to prevail, yet right now (as a whole) it appears to be losing the battle! If we are going to be a part of the advancement of God’s Kingdom, we need to get back to what our Lord Jesus taught us and gave us.” – Pastor Derek  

In 2019 Pastor Derek and his wife Jennifer moved from the Northern suburbs of Chicago to the Dodgeville, WI area. In 2020, COVID 19 hit our world with a devastating force and the suffocating effects of darkness was amplified – overcoming many people all over the world. After much prayer and through events that only God could orchestrate, a group of people felt that something more needed to be done. 

In April, 2021 Identity In Christ, Inc. established a division called Lighthouse Church. This division is dedicated to establishing a community (physically in Dodgeville, WI and virtually throughout the world) which teaches (all whom God brings) how to live in the fullness of the victory God gives us through Jesus Christ.

From April 2021 to November 2021, Lighthouse Church was holding physical services first in Mineral Point, WI and later at the American Legion in Dodgeville. Since the end of November, Lighthouse Church transitioned to Sunday services only streaming online (on Facebook) at 9:00 am.

On February 25th, 2023, Lighthouse Church and Identity In Christ partnered together to open a new location in Mount Horeb at 100 S. First St (Mount Horeb Innovation Center (lower level)). This location is dedicated to teaching people how to embrace the Holy Spirit of God so to live in the fullness of the victory that we have access to through Jesus Christ. Teachings from our counseling agency and church will be our foundation. All of it is under the authority of Jesus Christ. 

There is an incredible need right now for what Lighthouse Church stands for and we are eager for the journey ahead!
